What the pilot tested
BMW Group and its partners tested digital tracking of renewable diesel in more than 600 BMW and MINI diesel vehicles. The cars ran in corporate fleets in Germany, Italy and Spain; refuelling records were cross-checked against payment and station data.
First-year results
The company reported more than 5,500 recorded refuelling events and around 235,000 litres of HVO. HVO was verified in over 80% of all fill-ups. BMW says the tracking setup worked without vehicle hardware changes or new station infrastructure.
