Horst Lumma founded the company in 1987 as an automotive tuning and service workshop. In the early 1990s LUMMA became known for convertible conversions based on the BMW 02, E21 and E30. Its focus later shifted to premium cars and complete design programmes. Today the company offers visual and technical components for BMW, Porsche and Range Rover, while its roots remain closely tied to classic BMW convertibles.
