Steve Dinan founded the company in 1979 after working with BMW in motorsport and pursuing his own engineering interests. DINAN developed around tested engine, chassis and drivetrain upgrades for BMW owners in North America. Testing and warranty support became an important part of its offer, distinguishing the atelier from a parts-only business. Across decades, the marque has worked with BMW generations from classic cars to modern M and X models.
